Fresh Produce share of grocery spend drops to 33%.

Continuing from last fortnight, where we highlighted some findings from Hort Australia’s webinar, a survey by fiftyfive5 found main grocery buyers were spending more on Fruit and Veg; however, as a proportion of their total grocery spend, this has decreased from 35% to 33%, this could be due to higher inflation on packaged goods. But the good news is fresh produce accounts for one-third of grocery spend and is a key battleground for Retailers to drive sales and store loyalty.
