Aldi wins best supermarket for seventh year

Canstar Blue’s annual supermarket satisfaction ratings have been released and show Aldi as the only supermarket to receive 5 stars for overall satisfaction. Aldi has gained market share and footfall as many households make an extra trip to Aldi in response to cost-of-living pressures. With the smaller product range at Aldi this means most households will still need a trip to a major chain to fulfill their shopping list, and this once was a major barrier to growing footfall however the current economic environment has tipped many households to overcome the inconvenience and prioritise lower prices, a behavior that might prove sticky (to Aldi’s benefit). Value for money was the biggest driver of customer satisfaction and this speaks to the mindset of many shoppers at present. Value is not solely the lowest price but factors in product quality as well.
