Blueberries drop as Strawberries remain flat and Raspberries and Blackberry supply see less supply.

Blueberries— Volume again dropped by +30% this week, but demand remains stable at this point. We have seen price increases over the last couple of weeks; however, with school holidays approaching for NSW and already underway in VIC/QLD, unless there is a significant drop in supply, we are not expecting a major shift in price at this point.

Strawberries – Volume into retail increased slightly week on week. Cooler temperatures and rain are expected early this week in Victoria; the weather improves into the weekend, with some good growing conditions. Stanthorpe are expecting a wet week with rain forecasted most days which will impact supply over the next week into QLD. The great growing conditions continue in southwest WA with warmer days but cool nights and minimum temps in the low teens forecasted at the end of the week.

Raspberries—Volumes in VIC and Northern NSW continue to increase, and we saw a good jump in volume for the Coffs Coast region growers in the last week; quality in the last week has taken a turn with a number of issues presenting on arrival. Soft and overripe fruit is what we are seeing from a number of growers upon arrival and this has been called out at a DC level across all retailers. If there are any questions on what colour is acceptable within a punnet, please reach out to the agronomy and warehouse team for guidance.

Blackberries – A drop in volume week on week, signalling that we are seeing a slowdown from Tasmanian growers (like Raspberries). Quality across the board for Blackberries continues to be reasonably good.
