NSW Takes 1st place for the most fruit and vegetables consumed per household but are the only state to decline vs the prior year. 

With State of Origin starting this week for Rugby League fans, we thought we would give NSW a win in something (as it’s not looking good for the roaches). 

What is noteworthy is that NSW was the only state to go backwards last year with the overall KGs of fruit and vegetables. QLD was the fastest-growing state but is still behind the national average. South Australia is well behind all other states and is mostly concerned with drinking more Farmers Union Iced Coffee and Fruchoc’s. (just a joke.) However, this is likely due to the strict biosecurity in the state, which makes it unviable for other state producers to send to this market when you add in the extra logistics costs. 

When you look at the volume and dollar splits between Fruit/Vegetables and Nuts, Vegetables are the dominate share with 51.9% of all $ sales and 54.9% In KG’s.
