
Sedex recently announced to all members, the introduction of the new Self-Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) for goods suppliers. Sedex advises the new SAQ is faster to complete, has enhanced risk assessments and improved usability for multi-site organisations. The launch of the new Sedex SAQ is being rolled out in 2 phases. Phase 1 – was rolled out 17 May 2023. This was for new suppliers and existing suppliers who hadn’t started their SAQ yet, some of you may have already completed this. Phase 2 – is launched on the 3 October 2023 for all existing suppliers, who have previously completed their SAQ.
Coles Ethical Sourcing Program Requirements stipulate suppliers are required to complete their SAQ every 12 months. Following the release of the new SAQ, Sedex have announced that members have 6 months to transition over to the new SAQ. However, for suppliers and sites whose SAQ is already overdue, e.g. more than 12 months old, you will be required to complete this no later than 14 November 2023. For remaining suppliers and sites, please continue with your annual cadence and ensure you are updating your SAQ before the yearly mark, or if you make changes within your business.
